 Welcome to the website of Teamsters Local 317. The strength and power of your Union is derived from the unity of its members. The Local Unions Officers, Agents and Staff are committed to improving the wages, benefits and working conditions of our members. Local 317 represents truck drivers, warehouse workers, package delivery employees, public employees, bus drivers, dairy employees, clerical employees, mechanics and service employees.
Our diversity benefits each member throughout the collective bargaining process. The best employment protection for any worker is the security of a legally binding Teamster contract. Every year, Teamsters Local 317 awards four $1500.00 scholarships to eligble sons, daughters and grandchildren of Teamster members and retirees. Scholarship applications are submitted to Lemoyne College for review and selection judged upon academic record, aptitude scores, seriousness of objective, range of activities, literacy and general quality of personal statements. Now available for students attending a community college, 4-year institution or a technical/vocational program, Age 23 and younger, who are children or grandchildren of Teamster Members, The James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund 2010 Essay Contest. Deadline for submissions is September 30, 2010.
